Pastor Terrell Taylor – Biography
Pastor Terrell Taylor is a native of Los Angeles, California. He received his early education in the Southern California basin and graduated from Morningside High School in Inglewood, California. He continued his academic studies at El Camino College in Torrance, California, where he pursued coursework in Criminology. Shortly thereafter, the Lord redirected Pastor Taylor’s path and called him into ministry.
In preparation for preaching and teaching God’s Word, Pastor Taylor attended California Baptist College in Riverside, California. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education from Bible Believers College and Seminary on June 16, 2009, followed by a Master of Religious Education degree from the same institution on June 19, 2010.
Pastor Taylor was called to preach in 1980 under the leadership of Dr. Manuel L. Scott Jr. and was licensed to preach at Park Windsor Baptist Church. He began his service in ministry as a youth minister and worked with the evangelism team known as Fire Starters. Under the leadership of his spiritual father in ministry, Dr. William Thurmond, Pastor Taylor was trained in servant leadership, pastoral care, administration, and church leadership. During this period, he also served as a Young Adult Minister. In 1992, Pastor Taylor was ordained to preach the Gospel. He later served as Youth Minister at Metropolitan Baptist Church for three years under the leadership of Pastor Frank J. Hardy.
Pastor Taylor has faithfully answered the call to pastoral leadership, serving as Senior Pastor in three congregations. In 1990, he served as Senior Pastor of True Friendship Baptist Church in Inglewood, California, where he led for four years. In 2004, he accepted the call to serve as Senior Pastor of Traveler Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California, serving for six years. In September 2010, Pastor Taylor began serving as Senior Pastor of Park Windsor Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California. His appointment marked a meaningful homecoming, as he grew up at Park Windsor as a young child.
Pastor Taylor is married to his high school sweetheart, Regina Taylor. He is a devoted husband and father who values faith, family, and service.
Beyond the local church, Pastor Taylor has taken the Gospel both nationally and internationally. His mission work includes ministry and church training in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Tahiti, and Hawaii, where he has equipped churches in discipleship and evangelism.
Pastor Taylor’s life reflects a skillful tapestry of spiritual attributes, woven together by his deep passion for God’s Word and his genuine love for God’s people. He is known for his contagious spirit of generosity, which permeates every aspect of his ministry. His vision for the church is clear and uncompromising, centered on one guiding principle: to build and develop a kingdom of empowered people for God who are firmly rooted in God’s Word.
His pastoral scripture and dedication is found in Isaiah 50:4:
“The Lord God has given me His Word of wisdom so that I may know what I should say to all these weary ones. Morning by morning, He wakens me and opens my understanding to His will.”
Most importantly, Pastor Terrell Taylor is a man called by God unto salvation and called by God to lead and preach the Gospel to His people. The guiding motto he exemplifies for the Park Windsor family is:
“A Church of Inclusion and Not Exclusion.”
